Bought in 2019, Peanut quickly became an integral part of both Rachel’s life and yard life at Cheshire Racehorse Retraining. However, their shared journey was not without its challenges. Peanut was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach ulcers, a condition that severely impacted his health and behaviour.
Initially, Rachel faced considerable hurdles in managing Peanut's condition. His stomach ulcers caused him significant discomfort, leaving him tender around his tummy and affecting his overall demeanour. Peanut became withdrawn, his eyes losing their usual sparkle. Unable to ride Peanut due to his discomfort, Rachel was determined to find a solution that would restore his health and their shared joy of riding.
She tried "virtually every single supplement going," hoping for a breakthrough. Despite her efforts, nothing seemed to work, and the frustration grew as she watched Peanut's condition remain unchanged. It was during this challenging time that Rachel stumbled upon MonoShield Equine through a Facebook post. Intrigued by the positive reviews, she decided to give it a try, hoping it would be the answer she had been searching for.
After introducing MonoShield Equine into Peanut's diet, Rachel began to notice significant improvements within six weeks. The transformation was nothing short of remarkable. "It’s been the best thing," Rachel says, reflecting on the positive changes in Peanut's health. His tenderness around the tummy subsided, allowing him to move more comfortably. The softness returned to his eyes, a clear indication of his improved state of mind.
Moreover, Peanut's overall demeanour shifted positively; he became happier and more content. His feet, which had also been a concern, showed noticeable improvement, further enhancing his quality of life. Rachel's perseverance and her decision to try MonoShield had paid off, allowing her to ride Peanut once more and rekindle their bond.
