Philip Rothwell of Fairwood Stables in Tinahely, County Wicklow trains predominantly National Hunt horses but has a dual license.

Neil and Melanie from Ardeo Sport Horses have been using MonoShield Equine for around seven months.

Spider arrived at with Vicky at Cheshire Racehorse Retraining quite underweight and under-muscled with a very dull coat after being turned away for a few years after after his racing career ended. In a very short space of time, Spider has made a miraculous recovery with the help of MonoShield Equine. In just a few short weeks “his coat is incredible and he has gone from strength to strength”, says Vicky.

Spider’s behaviour has also drastically improved as he has become a much happier horse. “When he first arrived you couldn’t touch his sides. He would pin his ears back and swing his quarters away from you like he was guarding himself. Now you can touch him all over and he loves it”.

“If he isn’t proof that the product works, then I don’t know what is”.

Tom Gretton has been using MonoShield Equine on his racehorses for several months and has had great results for a number of issues. One horse “with poor topline is benefitting massively and looks like a completely different horse now and the one with the fizzy attitude is much more relaxed”.

Fancy Stuff has been on MonoShield since the spring. After having a very long drawn-out season waiting for the right ground, she held her form throughout the season and ended it with two race wins. Tom credits MonoShield with helping her maintain her form and “getting more nutrients out of the food”.

Tom also loves how easy MonoShield is to administer - “one squirt, very easy, very palatable and makes my life easier as a trainer”.

Jo Davis started using MonoShield 12 months ago and found it “unbelievable” and “amazing in so many different ways”. Her yard in Wiltshire is home to a mixture of eventers, ponies, racehorses and livery horses and now every horse is put on MonoShield as it arrives.

Jo’s daughter’s pony is one of her main success stories as ‘naughty Bobby’ used to spend “most of his time on his head bucking and generally being difficult”. Bobby hasn’t been up to his usual tricks for quite a few months now and Jo says “it’s 100% due to the MonoShield”.

Jo has tried many different products which profess to be the next best thing and says that “nothing has worked, this is the only product we’ve used that’s worked”.

“They keep their toplines better, they get more out of their feed, we can work them harder, they eat up better and they’re just generally much happier horses”.

Irish Showjumper and Eventer Darryl Walker has seen a huge difference in his seven competiton horses after using MonoShield for around 4 weeks. “I’m delighted with how they look, their skin is so much better, their condition is definitely improving and the ridability is definitely easier. It’s making my life a lot easier”, says Darryl.

Darryl has had his 11 year-old eventer, Derek, since a 5 year old and has never been happy with his skin and coat. After just a few weeks on MonoShield his coat is gleaming and he’s starting to fill out more instead of looking “empty” as Darryl described him before.

“I feel that when you can see the horse looking well from the outside, they definitely have to be feeling better on the inside”.

Jolly Bay has always been a challenge! She’s been difficult for Jo Davis and her team to manage and train, who were always having to stop her work, medicate her with Omeprazole until she started eating properly, and repeat this process continually throughout her training regime.

After being on MonoShield she is “the nicest, kindest filly now where before you’d be ducking her legs and teeth. If you tried to tack her up she’d be trying to savage you”. “She’s a completely different horse to before she went on MonoShield”, says Jo.

“She’s testament to how much difference it can make to a horse”.

Rachel helps out at Cheshire Racehorse Retraining where she bought her horse Peanut in 2019. Having been previously unable to ride Peanut, Rachel is now able to ride him again after him being on MonoShield Equine for around 6 weeks.

Rachel tried Peanut on “virtually every single supplement going” after he was scoped and diagnosed with stage 4 stomach ulcers, and after no success she came across MonoShield Equine via a Facebook post and hasnt looked back.

“It’s been the best thing. He’s not tender around his tummy anymore, he’s happier in himself, his eyes have gone soft again, his feet have improved… he’s just completely changed”.

Aidy has been with Vicky at Cheshire Racehorse Retraining for the last 3 years and is her hacking buddy. Vicky notes that he’s always had very smelly droppings, but one day about 3 weeks after she put him on MonoShield Equine, he did a poo when she was in his stable and she couldnt smell it! “Ever since then his poos have just been normal!” says Vicky.

Vicky was also never able to touch across his chest as he’d stamp his feet and he was also very tense and sore to the touch around his poll, but now, in Vicky’s words, he’s “so much happier”!
